Just curious about the average time it takes to do not only the 5 steps, but also clean and detail interior. I'm just wondering because today I spent about 5 hours start to finish by hand. (Still waiting for the PC special...)

Ouch!...You guys are fast compared to me!

The last car I detailed took me about 9 hrs........That was for the outside only. :(

How bad is it?

I can do a full-detail, start to finish, on a vehicle in very good shape in 3-5 hours.

Now, if the interior is thrashed and the paint needs clay, wet sanding, compounding, polishing, etc then you might as well put me in the 9+ hour range.

Mind you, this won't have to be done each and every time that you do the vehicle and, most likely, if you take great care of it from here on out, probably not for a long while.

RP :D

I forgot to mention that the customer's paint was neglected...Man, it sure looked good when I finished though.

The owner gave me a $10.00 tip for doing such a good job. :db:

Edit: I had to clay the entire car...I also had trouble with removing brake dust from wire spoke wheel covers.

I'm with Rusty here we must be getting "OLD" because it takes me 4-6 hours and that's all by hand inside & out.

I guess I take after my father...He was rather slow compared to most people.

But most of the cars I do are fairly neglected to begin with...If I was skilled with a rotary, then I wouldn't have to go over the same areas multiple times with cleaners before moving on to a polish or wax.

Add clay or anyother special stuff and it takes me longer. I always keep my truck very clean inside and out. When I got it from the dealer and cleaned it the way they should have/remove the fine scratches and other dealer installed problems it took a solid 8 hours

I too have never really timed it alone but I'd guess 45min to 1 hour.

As of yet I have not clayed.

It takes me all day to do me truck 3 step outside. Inside is trashed and I remove the seats to do a complete carpet cleaning take in mind I USE TO SMOKE i don't care what stuff you use tobacco does not clean off easily. 8+hrs. just a wash and wipe dry 1hr 10min. inc wheels.
