I tried a search and could find nothing about it, but I saw it once on cmas web site and thought to myself, why don't we polish glass? is anyone out there polishing their glass? I can't see what the difference would between polish and a good glass cleaner, but I said the same thing about a compound compared to clay and well I can't tell you how stupid I feel about that now.
thanks for the feed back.

I have used 000 steel wool and Dupont compound before to remove acid rain etching.

I will not hesitate to run the PC over my auto's glass (Except the windshield) in order to clean them while doing a detail job....Outside glass only!

There are "Glass Polishes" out there. I have used one and they are awesome! by far the best type of glass cleaner. Here is one brand: Glass Polish (http://www.autopia-carcare.com/ag-4325.html). I have used the RainX brand glass polish but its very hard to find and I am out and still looking for it.

Maybe a good "product suggestion" for Meguiars, they need a good glass polish.

what is it that you use with the pc? did you notice a big difference or is it just out of convenience of having the pc out? any down sides to polishing it?

It doesn't really matter. I use whatever cleaners or waxes are on the pad....But I would not use a pure polish on glass.

If their is a downside to it, then, I'm not aware of it yet...Except, just be careful of trim work & such, so you don't tear the pad or stain the trim.

I'm not saying that running a PC over the glass is good or bad...I mean, I will continue to do it unless I see compelling evidence to suggest otherwise.......That's just my opinion on the matter.

As Mike say's, "You're mileage may vary". :coolgleam

:) :) Hi I use Auto Glym car glass polish and I am very impressed with the product as we don't have much of a choice, It also can be applied by your porter cable you will need a small foam pad.

a) Exterior glass –
·Wash glass surface to remove dirt, dust and etc
·Stoners Invisible Glass and #00000 steel wool will quickly and efficiently cut through the toughest dirt and grime (use only on uncoated glass)
·Apply clay (Magic Clay) and lubricant solution (Woolite / Water 5:1) onto the glass surface
Do not apply to plastic as dulling may occur.)
·Wash off any residue from glass and dry with a damp waffle weave towel
·To polish glass surfaces (use only on uncoated glass) -apply a quarter size amount of Autoglym Car Glass Polish to dry 100% cotton or Microfiber cloth or a foam pad attached to a Porter-Cable random orbital buffer set at speed 4.
·Apply to half of the windshield, polishing first in an up and down motion then in a left-to-right motion and then repeat on the other side, proceed to other glass surfaces.
·Go over the glass several times in each direction, glass will polish virtually residue free.
·Before cleaning door glass, open the widow half way. Clean the top and the leading edge of the glass as these usually sit in the door window tracks. Wipe off any residue, and polish with a clean dry 100% cotton Microfiber cloth.
·Inspect glass for clarity and smoothness. Repeat if necessary.
·Before you clean the vehicle exterior mirrors use a ‘shot’ of canned air to remove any water from the rear of the mirror housing and avoid any water running on to the paintwork. Use a non-abrasive glass cleaner (Stoners Invisible Glass) on the mirrors
·Apply 303 Wiper Treatment to the wiper blades to clean, restore suppleness, eliminate wiper noise or ‘skipping’ and to avoid glass smearing

If anybody has hints, tips, or corrections to the above procedure, please post them/ send me a pm. I’m always anxious to improve my technique.

I'm certain you know Megs #s better than I do, please feel free to substitute
