marine/r.v does this stuff really buff out 1000 grit sanding scratches in marine gel-coat?

Or do you suggest sanding with 1200 grit paper?

I been out of this trade for a while and am looking for help and your suggestions!

Thanks,

Hi Daniel,

M91 is an aggressive product. As long as the sanding marks are uniform and you have good technique the answer is yes.

While it is easier to buff out finer marks, it is also recommended to use the least aggressive method. If you do not need 1000 grit, then 1200 or finer is recommended, and will certainly be easier to remove.
