anybody know whats the best thing to use on painted aluminum wheels and then whats best to use to protect them??

You should treat them just like the paint on our car. Regular car wash should wash the dirt of. Otherwise, you should get a safe wheel cleaner. I would keep a fresh coat of wax or sealant on them.
NXT is too new to has durability tested, but it should offer excellent protection for your wheels.

If you're looking for a 'Wheel Cleaner' type product, you can try Meguiar's HOT WHEELS wheel cleaner (available on the website) but, as with any of these 'wheel cleaner' types of products, you'll probably have to get down there with some elbow grease to make it how you really want it...
And, as was mentioned, you'll probably want to go over the wheels with a quality synthetic like NXT. Regular carnauba wax will work, but only very temporarily because of heat issues.

The link looks exactly the same? Maybe their site was down temporarily or something. It works anyway. Good article.
Sure makes me think twice about wheel cleaners and the application of tire cleaner/blackeners.

If you have a BIG LOT [ MY WIFE ASKED ME TOGO WHO KNEW] in your area they carry a Meguiars wheel cleaner call EXTRA GET IT @ $3.50 a bottle you can't beat it and Turtle wax Tire wax @ K-MART / NAPA I SWEAR BY THIS STUFF DOES NOOOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTT SLIINNNNNNGGGGG !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Note: Meguiars sell EXTRA by the case :D
