Indenting with an invisible Smilie

While doing some formatting for a re-write of an older thread I found myself needing a way to indent text but the indent feature in vBulletin does this in a way that spreads the text out vertically at the same time it's moving your text to the right.

Solution? A transparent gif

Like this --> :cs<--

Between the arrows above is a 16 pixel by 16 pixel transparent gif that can be used by typing : followed by cs

(If I type the colon next to the cs vBulletin will covert it to a invisible square picture and you won't be able to see the code)

Now you can use the transparent gif to indent text if case you have the need, like this,

Note: There is also a keyboard space between the code for each transparent gif

Just an FYI for anyone that wants to indent text while formatting any kind of post to the forum.

Here's a screen shot of what it looks like, or rather doesn't look like in the Smilies box...

You know that there is a button for a indent right on the text box? I guess they both do the same thing but it's there if you want to use it.

It works like this.

The problem with the built in indent formatting feature is it spreads your text out vertically, like this,

Subject Line

Step 1
Step 2
Step 3
With the transparent gif you can keep your text tight like this,

Subject Line
:cs :cs :cs Step 1
:cs :cs :cs Step 2
:cs :cs :cs Step 3

See the difference in space between your subject line and your list? It's not a huge deal but sometimes when writing I would prefer to have text a little tighter without the extra spacing.

Either way will work, kind of a pick your poison type of thing...
