Here's my next question - how to best "polish" those infamous clear vinyl, zip-in widows so common to boats. What I have on the boat now is in reasonable shape, but it doesnt have the "sparkle" that new stuff has. So I want to try polishing, after a good but gentle cleaning of course.

In another thread I saw someone mention PlastX, and then it was noted that Meguiar's 17 and 10 were milder than PlastX. I have used a lot of MG 17 and 10 on acrylics and polycarbonate but never on clear vinyl, and I have no knowledge about PlastX. Are these products good to use on uncoated, clear vinyl? How does PlastX compare to MG 17 and 10?

PlastX uses a microscopic diminishing abrasive that will remove yellowing, hazing, oxidation and swirls and scratches by hand or machine on flexible clear plastics. It is more aggressive and more effective for restoring neglected or worn clear plastics over the M17 because of the diminishing abrasives yet at the same time it's completely non-abrasive and by this we mean it won't put scratches into the plastic.

You don have to be mindful of the Material you choose to apply any plastic product because if you choose a scratchy material it, as in the material will put scratches into the plastic. So stick with foam or microfiber applicators and you should be okay.

How about some before and after pictures?
